This basic Range Safety Officer course is designed to familiarize students with conducting safety operations on a live-fire range in accordance with SOPs already in place. This course will cover basic operation of a firing line, understanding of standard operating procedures, firearm handling and malfunction clearance, response to emergencies, and more.

Practical exercises will be conducted, however, no live fire is involved. Students will be provided with course material, but are encouraged to take notes, as well.
This course is a prerequisite for the NRA CRSO course.
